New Years Update:

I spoke to Gabe yesterday. It sounds like there are a couple of his classmates that will also be in town for the holiday including Hootman and Nate and Luke. We agreed that if there are about 10 or so of us then I would host a party and if there were more than he would host a party. He has some room for sleeping bags and stuff too. All are still welcome to crash at my place after the party as well. Gabe said that he also would probably have people over for bowl game watching in the afternoon on the 31st regardless of where the party ends up, so for those of you in town early you have a place to hang out. Corey, Jenelle, Rob and I are going to see the Lion King at 2 o'clock on Friday so we will be out of commision for several hours. We'll provide food and beer for the party but we are asking everyone that comes to bring at least one bottle of champagne or sparkling something. Let me know your plans.

Ahh New Years...

I am a little confused about New Years because it seems that most people have been thus far a bit non-committal. Here is what I know so far:

Dave - In massachusetts - up for getting together
but not sure when or where.

The Dahl's - Flying in from Minnesota, supposed to
land at 11:30 pm Dec. 31st

Ryan - Initial interest don't know any different -
flying into Providence early afternoon Dec. 31st

Gram - Initial interest don't know any different

Nick - completely non-commital either way

Doug - Same I think though I was drunk when I asked
him last time

Corey and Jenelle - Will definetly be in Boston

Anthony - May be coming if others are too

Matt Collette - outside chance of his participation as well as he has been invited to join in while he is state side once again.

Gabe et al - as a member of the Webb Class of 2001 is always up for drinking and harassing the 200-tools. I am not sure what his official plans are though.

If a bunch of people will be in town I will throw a party at my place. All are welcome to crash at my place too. If you don't mind throwing down a sleeping bag you are all welcome to a little bit of aptartment floor real estate. Corey and Jenelle already have dibs on the futon, but we also have an air mattress and a comfy couch. Please come - it would be great fun to have all of you. I will be in DE from Wed. night through Tuesday evening. I will probably have my cell phone, though there are no garauntees that it will be on.

Well Doug, thanks for the long odds. Am I really that unlikely to be the first to be married. Yeah, I probably am. Hey Ryan, how much do those mail order brides go for?

Anyway, there was talk some time back about a large webb gathering to celebrate Dave being in the states for the New Year. This time is fast approaching so I think we need to start some planning. I believe Karyn volenteered here place as headcourters. Anyway, I never was and never want to be social chair, but do want to remind everyone of this and hopefully get someone to start some organizing. Probably crucial is determining what Dave's schedule is.

On a completely different note, in case any of you missed the OC last night, it was briliant. I will proudly be celebrating Chrismichah this year with my yamiclaus firmly pinned to my head, eating latkes and candycanes. Hoping for a Chrismichah miracle (Rachel Bilson (plays Summer) showing up and asking me to marry her just minutes after I put down $500 dollars on myself in Dougs new pool) and shooing away the non-believers with a quick Oy'-Humbug!

Take care and have a merry Chrismichah!

10-1 odds because I have a bike? I think thats a bit low, considering that theres a 4-1 change of me killing myself on the bike before I reach the wedding. I have already fallen once.

Also, for those of you who have Christmas parties coming up, don't be this guy. For those of you who already had Christmas parties, I just hope you can remember is this was you or not.

Merry Christmas. And Happy Chanukah to our sometimes Jewish Members

20-1? With a few hundred dollars capital, the mail-order bride would pay for herself.

I hereby place 20 dollars on Sean at the stated 50-1 odds. Though having no standards can not in itself net a wife, it is an excellent start.

You're looking at a potential 1 grand loss Doug. At this price you can't afford not to get married.

We can have some fun with this. Opening Vegas odds, I'll take all bets:

Nick 1-2 (as if he's not already married)

Corey 3-1 (no longer a long-distance relationship)

Doug 6-1 (long-distance & a good chance it'll be called off after the bachelor party)

Tooker 8-1 (how many divorcees can you go through before you find the "one")

Glab 20-1 (may need to divorce the Navy first)

Fogg 15-1 (just needs the right girl willing to 'go down'-under)

Smith 50-1 (anyone know if he is even still alive?)

POD 20-1 (this is my sleeper pick, chicks dig the sense of humor)

Kyle 25-1 (having too much fun as it is)

DeWolfe 15-1 (those Bahama mamas will negotiate anything)

Boytim 12-1 (Tiger Woods couldn't pass up the opportunity, i think he's got a Swede lined up)

Constable 10-1 (chicks dig guys on bikes)

Schwiekert 100-1 (he's got use of his 'rents yacht, that gives him a fighting chance)

Karyn 20-1 (i've seen what Rob does when he's drunk, only a matter time before he drinks the wrong drink so I'll take bets on her too)

Adoreable! Jealous!!! Give the cute pup a big hug for me!!! (I know, animal-starved, it's disgusting.)

On another note, just wanted to brag that my new hubby got to go on USS Jimmy Carter Bravo trials. He was out to sea for a week and a half, and had the TIME of his life! (Still says the wedding was better, though, so he gets to keep his own balls...) So who's getting married next, so we can all get together again?

Congrats & good luck with the dog Christine but I'm a little disappointed that you had it neutered. Don't you remember that in order to be considered a great dog it needs to lick its own balls on a regular basis? Nice job!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to show off our new little pal, Scout. We adopted him last week from the Norfolk SPCA. He's a year old beagle or beagle mix. We think he might have some dachshund in him. He's a been a great little guy so far. Despite a rough first week- neutering, a ton of shots and pills from the shelter and vet, he seems to have settled in just fine and has already claimed a corner of the couch as his own. Here's some pics. And yes, those are four, yes four, legs he is sporting. No tripod for us this time.

Corey - school sounds really sucky - thanks for the reminder not to ever consider going to school again. Good luck tomorrow
